Drug-Use Is Self-Abuse

The good news is that methamphetamine abuse can be prevented and methamphetamine addiction can be treated. People do recover, but only when effective treatments that address the multitude of problems resulting from methamphetamine abuse are readily available. Primary goals of the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) are to apply what our scientists learn from drug abuse research to develop new and enhance existing treatment approaches and to bring these effective treatments to the communities that need them.

Drugs, the scourge of society. The downward spiral of individual lives and society.
Not enough is being done in school to steer kids away from that road.

Let's not mislead anyone though. Drugs provide an escape from the banal reality most of us feel trapped in. They're great recreation too. No hate towards any other forms of entertainment or enjoyment, but they often enhance our experiences and pleasure. Society's disdain for them is misguided. Differences in effects vary based on personalities, not the drugs alone. But misleading scare tactics are the worse way to educate about drug use, because regardless of how you feel, drugs and the curiosity over them are a part of the human condition. They're not going away.

Although some people think it's okay to use drugs once in a while, the way I see it, it's still a total cop out. People use it because they can't have fun on their own, deal with problems on their own, muster up some courage on their own without seeking some sort of outside synthetic source.

What happened to having self-respect? That's how I see drugs, anyways.
