Why Is Sex Like Riding A Bike?

Why Is Sex Like Riding A Bike?
1. You have to keep pumping if you want to get anywhere.

2. It's best to wear protective head-gear when going into unfamiliar territory.

3. You can do it with no hands, but it's best not to try it until you have a lot of experience.

4. It's easier to learn with the help of someone who has a lot of experience.

5. You can do it by yourself, but it's usually not as much fun.

6. It's usually hard to control your speed the first few times you try.

7. It's best to have a soft place to land.

8. You don't need any special clothing, but you can get some if you are really into it.

9. If you're with someone who is having trouble keeping up, it's usually best to slow down and wait for them.

10. Most people think it looks easy until they try it for the first time.

11. Once you learn, you never forget how.

12. If you fall off get right back on.

13. If you get a flat, try pumping it back up.

14. Remember to signal before you change direction.

15. Make sure that you've got a firm grip.

16. Sometimes it's nice to have a cushy seat.

17. Once you're over the top, you can just coast the rest of the way.

18. That's why some of them are called Mountin' Bikes.

Health is not the absence of disease

Health is not the absence of disease ... it is a universal good condition on all levels--physical, emotional and mental. Naturopathic Medicine is a distinctively natural approach to health and healing that recognizes the integrity of the whole person. Disease or "dis-ease" is defined as a lack of health. Disease results when any cell is not functioning 100% of its designed duty whether due to trauma, toxicity, lack of communication or a combination thereof. Disease is due to stress. Whether due to ignorance or laziness, exposing the body to stress will produce a diseased state of the body. Stress is the only means of tearing down health resulting in disease, our bodies paying the price for violating the laws of nature (our wrong doings). We do not "catch" a disease or illness, we earn it. We must "work" for disease.
Disease is nothing more than the body responding to the wrong we have done to it. It is the body's attempt at keeping us alive in response to the wrongs we have inflicted on our bodies. Pathological changes are the cell's response to stress. These changes or compensations allow the body to survive - maintain homeostasis - as long as the stress continues. These tissue changes which result in disease, are the outward manifestation of internal compensation to stress. Until the cause is removed, the condition will remain in one form or another.

The word "holistic" means "whole". In providing holistic care, the therapist addresses you or your animal not only from the point of view of its disease, but also considers what may have caused the condition. There are many levels to look at: lifestyle, dietary habbits, emotions; these may all have a relationship with the symptoms you observe. Believe it or not, our body knows how we got sick, why we got sick and how to heal us. The reason it doesn't do so is because of the stresses that we put in the way

"Everyone has a doctor in him or her; we just have to help it in its work. The natural healing force within each one of us is the greatest force in getting well. Our food should be our medicine. Our medicine should be our food. But to eat when you are sick, is to feed your sickness." Hippocrates, Greek physician (460 BC - 377 BC).

"You cannot poison your body into health with drugs, chemo or radiation. "Health" can only be achieved with healthful living." T.C. Fry

Friendship

When I was little,
I used to believe in the concept of one best friend,
And then I started to become a woman.
And then I found out that if you allow your heart to open up,
God would show you the best in many friends.

One friend is needed when you're going through things with your man.
Another friend is needed when you're going through things with your mom.
Another will sit beside you in the bleachers as you delight in your children and their activities.
Another when you want to shop, share, heal, hurt, joke, or just be.
One friend will say, 'Let's cry together,'
Another , 'Let's fight together,'
Another , 'Let's walk away together.'

One friend will meet your spiritual need,
Another your shoe fetish,
Another your love for movies,
Another will be with you in your season of confusion,
Another will be your clarifier,
Another the wind beneath your wings.

But whatever their assignment in your life,
On whatever the occasion,
On whatever the day,
Or wherever you need them to meet you with their gym shoes on and hair pulled back,
Or to hold you back from making a complete fool of yourself .
Those are your best friends

It may all be wrapped up in one woman, But for many, it's wrapped up in several..
One from 7th grade,
One from high school,
Several from the college years,
A couple from old jobs,
On some days your mother,
On some days your neighbor,
On others, your sisters,
And on some days, your daughters.

They simply continue to fly....

Pope week on Facebook

Pope week on Facebook

2010-10-07 14:59
WASHINGTON, Wednesday 6 October 2010 (AFP) - Think you know a thing or two about Pope Benedict XVI? Then log onto Facebook next week and you could be a winner.

OK, maybe it's not of a trip to the Vatican. But you could win a copy of a new book about the pope by taking part in "Pope Culture Week," a competition on the Facebook page of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB).

Every week day next week, the USCCB will ask its Facebook fans -- of whom there were nearly 22,000 as of Wednesday -- a question about the life and teachings of Pope Benedict XVI.

The first person to give the correct answer in the comment box beneath the question will win a copy of a book about the pontiff, with forewords by King Abdullah II of Jordan and Israeli President Shimon Peres.

It's not clear if copies will be signed by the leader of the world's billion Roman Catholics, or by either foreword contributor.

Though the Roman Catholic church isn't usually associated with social networks, next week's competition will not be a first foray into the new-wave communication medium by the church or individual clergy members.

The USCCB tweets live from its general assembly meetings, and an Australian nun tweets on behalf of saint-in-waiting Mary MacKillop, whom Benedict put on course to become Australia's first saint.

There's even a pope app on Facebook, called Pope2You, which allows users to receive messages from the pontiff.

And the pope himself has urged priests to go forth and tweet, blog and post on Facebook.

"Priests are ... challenged to proclaim the Gospel by employing the latest generation of audiovisual resources (images, videos, animated features, blogs, websites)," the octogenarian pontiff said in a message in May to mark World Communications Day.

Portrait of a Friend

Portrait of a Friend

I can't give solutions to all of
life's problems, doubts, or fears.
But I can listen to you and
together we will search for answers.

I can't change your past with all it's heartache and pain, nor the future with it's untold stories. But I can be there now when you need me to care.
I can't keep your
feet from stumbling.
I can only offer my hand
that you may grasp it
and not fall.

Your joys, triumps, success,
and happiness are not mine;
Yet I can share in your laughter.
Your decisions in life are not mine to make, nor to judge;
I can only support you, encourage you,
and help you when you ask.

I can't prevent you from
falling away from friendship,
from your values, from me.
I can only pray for you,
talk to you, and wait for you.
I can't give you boundaries which I have determined for you, But I can give you the room to change, room to grow, room to be yourself.

I can't keep your heart from breaking and hurting, But I can cry with you and help you pick up the pieces and put them back in place.

I can't tell you who you are. I can only love you and be your friend.
